Membership Services Committee

Mission Statement:

To deliver effective membership services, products, programs, education, and communication in support of our member's economic success and continued growth and retention of our membership.

Core Strategies:

To develop and produce member programs, products, and services to enhance member businesses opportunity for economic success.

  • Create an annual Membership Marketing Plan to include product/service offerings, event schedules, promotional plans, and targeted markets with emphasis on member education about the Chamber.

  • Evaluate additional association plans for member availability and operating cost reductions (i.e.; long distance phone plans, merchant credit card service).

  • Provide Chamber AM and membership meetings as appropriate throughout the year.

  • Increase revenue, decrease cost and increase attendance at annual events for benefit of the membership including Home Garden EXPO, Business Trade Fair, Annual Dinner, Chamber Gold, Golf Classic, 300 Club, Celebration of the Arts and Garden, and Festival of Trees.

  • Create specific event planning guides for each event.

  • Improve the marketing effort of the Member-to-Member Advantage program and offer cards to all member employees to assure 10% member participation.

  • Market the Chamber Check program in four specific campaigns as no cost value added member benefit.

  • Offer Newcomers/New Professionals Network events twice per year to assist in integrating residents into the community.

  • Create long-standing membership recognition program through publications, member plaques and annual dinner awards.

To expand county-wide awareness and use of chamber products and services.

  • Evaluate the potential and impact of becoming a regional chamber to expand program awareness.

  • To increase Chamber membership by 10% and maintain retention at 90%.

  • Host semi-annual New Member Orientation Programs and update materials as needed.

To improve existing and offer new communications and publications.

  • Create new chamber (publication) theme every other year for incoming Chairman of the Board.

  • Create new Membership development packets every other year with new theme.

  • Continue improvements in the monthly newsletter.

  • Publish a semiannual Chamber tabloid for the general public.

  • Publish an annual Member Directory and Buyers Guide.

To continue developing a strong Ambassador program emphasizing membership contact and retention services.

  • Conduct orientation training for all new Ambassadors.

  • Improve the effectiveness of the quarterly member contact program with each ambassador serving 24 members.

  • Manage Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies and include lasting impression devices (framed picture certificates).
