This is a great site for those of us who still consider Owosso "home", even if we don't live there anymore. It is great to see those familiar names that I grew up with. This year, I will be "home" for the holidays! Look forward to seeing my family on Christmas and being back home again. Well, dear friends, I must admit I am homesick for Owosso. I graduated
in 1962 and returned rather frequently until the 90's. I even ran into
someone at work who is from Owosso --- quite amazing in my book.
I would love to hear from folks in Owosso, so if you're snowed in and
have a couple of minutes, please drop me a line. I'm sure we must have
a reunion in the works and I'd be most happy to help in any way I can.

Hello Owosso! Just found this web site and will add it to my favorites. I am Greg Imerman. My family moved to Florida in 1959 ( I was 11 ). My parents were Emma and Irvin Imerman. and I have two sisters ( Dian and Sandi ). My mother's side of the family were Carmody's whose roots in Owosso date back to the 1800's. I still believe that there are many Carmody and Sedlak cousins who are still in Owosso ( and of course my cousin Jan Imerman ). Great web-site. I will enjoy hearing from anyone. Regards, gi ( Butch )

Looks like good old Owosso is doing just fine, it's been awhile since I've had the oppertunity to see it, but I'm sure it's about the same. Not to much changes in a small town like that, but I think that's a good thing. It stays preserved and the people grow with the town, instead of the town growing the people. This guestbook is wonderful. Because it exists I received an e-mail from Marian & Troy Hood, he is the great grandson of Clarence S. Hood, Owosso High School history, government and economics teacher, deceased. Marian is gathering up memories his past students are willing to share with them. I immediately responded with my own tribute to his memory and gave her Hubie Smith's e-mail and he in turn immediately responded and forwarded the request to at least a half dozen past students. The testimonials have been flooding their e-mail from all corners of the globe -- I am lucky to have been copied on most. The love and sharing that is going out to Marian and Troy is quite overwhelming. And it all began here with Shianet's guestbook. Thank you so much all who have made it possible and especially to Bob Wilcox who I am sure has played a major role in creating Shianet. Thank you Bob - many times over. Barbara

Hello! I'm trying to find information on my great-grandfather, John Woodall Hamler. He was supposed to have been from Owosso. I don't know his birthdate, but it would have been around 1870-1875. He married Jesse Huntwork on 22 Dec. 1875, and they had a son, John Austin Hamler on 29 March 1901. Does anyone know anything about them?

I lived in Owosso in the 70`s and moved to Fla in the 80`s I did go back over the summer and found it strange the at 12PM on sunday night that at the intersection of 52and 21 that in any direction there was NO traffic!!strange!! PS miss those BENNYS donughts SEE YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Researching the Rudolph Oehmig line, as my mother Ella was born in Owosso and my Dad Fred Krauth was born in Henderson. We have enjoyed our trips to Owosso and Michigan.
My grandmother Anne Brumm Oehmig was from Forestville, Mi, and lived for many years on Stewart St in Owosso.

The Class of 1950 reunions for Corunna and Owosso High Schools have come and gone - June 24th and August 5th. The wonderful occasions were filled with a renewal of friendships and a catching up on our lives and families. There are plans in the making now for a Florida get together in March. We are hoping to include Corunna High, St. Paul High as well as Owosso High on our mailings that will be going out. So many we found at the OHS reunion travel during the winter months to the southern States. So if you are members of this group of travelers and graduated from any of the high schools come join us here in sultry Florida for a day in March of comradery and reminiscing. Thanks again to Bob Wilcox who so generously gave time and space for our web page information in our pre-reunion efforts to be in touch with classmates. Thanks for this wonderful guestbook and the Shianet. We all enjoy it. Regards to all this Fall of 2000.

Hello again! My father and I just came to Owosso on July 29, 2000 and had a great time with some good friends... What do Bob Wilcox, Keith Coakes, Mel (Greg) Gregory, Alan Langdon (all from Owosso), and Jack Sheldon Sr., and Jr., (from Arizona), all have in common? Amateur Radio and pie with coffee at Bob's Big Boy! We had a great evening get together at Bob's on Exchange. Thanks, guys, for putting a great surprise together for my dad. Just a note to follow up on my entry that suggested I was censored. I wasn't. The site must have had indigestion at the time I tried to post. There has been some activity on the www.classmates.com message board for Owosso High School, it doesn't cost anything to use their board. They DO have a pay service, but you do not really NEED to sign up. www.highschoolalumni.com is nice and has a cool email service, but not too much participation from OHS (yet), and no message board (yet). The classmates.com site's message board is kind of like walking around the hallways at OHS with ALL the years' students. It looks like most of the people who participate are the folks who moved away. Could it be homesickness? Maybe Owosoo isn't such a bad place after all......

Hello all. I am still in the Air Force and will be heading to
Tampa Bay in a couple of months. I heard there is a Shiawassee
County club in that area made up of folks from this area.
I am sure there are few still living down there or at least
go down a few times a year. I am looking to maybe buy once
I get there. Does anyone have anything nice for sale down there?
I am still up in the air about whether to rent or buy so a nice
rental would be nice too. Drop me line. I would like to meet new
folks too down there too. The Lions play down there once a year and the Tigers and
Red Wings are in and out of there too. I would love to get some
good tickets too if anyone has any wanting to part too.

The Alumni Banquet held at the ZCBJ Hall for Corunna High School grads on Saturday, June 24th, was a smashing success. The hall was packed, the food excellent and music reminescent of the forties and fifties. We had a marvelous time. The committee is to be congratulated, Mary Dumond's hard work and attention to detail reaped positive comments from the Class of 1950 grads, the parties before and after were well attended and filled with great tales of the forties - thanks to Laurae and Gene Brown; Joanne and Dick Miller. As a guest, I had an exceptional time and renewed contacts with many. It was decided by the graduates to do it again in two years. Another great moment to look forward to!

Corunna High School Class of 1950 have reservations for 113 so far. Their banquet is scheduled for Saturday, June 24, 2000. Mary Dumond gave me the great news today and I am looking forward to seeing so many faces I've not seen in all these years. Mary Lou, I'm in the same boat as you -- eagerly seeking the hometown newspaper online - Argus Press! The newspaper may not be equal to the "big city rags"; however, it's my hometown link with old friends that still reside there and events I might want to enjoy. Happy Valentine's Day to my friends in Corunna/Owosso area. Again, thanks to Shianet I've heard from more and more classmates from both Owosso and Corunna. It's a thrill to touch lives again after residing in St. Petersburg since 1956. I'm looking forward to celebrating with Corunna schoolmates June 24th at the ZCBJ hall for the Class of 1950 reunion banquet get-together as a guest. Mary Dumond and Gene Phillips are working hard to make it all happen. Then I plan to return in August to enjoy the Owosso High School Class of 1950 Reunion scheduled Aug 4,5,&6. Hearing from Owosso classmates has been most rewarding too. Thanks to Bob Wilcox and his ShiaNet crew all of this 'being in touch' is made possible. Thank God for computers and this internet age. Baseball Spring Training begins here in St. Pete Friday, 18th -- pitchers and catchers start their workouts. The crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd and the smell of ballpark franks, popcorn and peanuts are about to begin here. First home game for the Devil Rays is March 3rd. Where is everybody else. I went to the Corunna/Owosso football game this past Fall
with two of my children. It was great being back but suprised by the changes;
especially the demise of the band. But I did see a few people that are still around.
