COMMUNITY RADIO WATCH OF SHIAWASSEE COUNTY
Since 1975 the Community Radio Watch of Shiawassee
County has been volunteering in and around the county
assisting various public safety, and civic organizations in their
endeavors, whether it be a fund raising event or a devastating
emergency.
The C.R.W. as we are more commonly known, consist of
about forty people at present, who use the citizens band radio
as their primary source of communications; we also use
business band radio, cellular telephone, and ham radio.
When an emergency arises, we are on 24 hour call to assist
the public service agencies.
C.R.W. members have:
Helped cleanup after a tornado
Helped search for people who were lost
Helped with traffic control during numerous fires, big and
small
Provided extra communication during the county's time of
need
We are part of the emergency services of Shiawassee
County and have been trained in several areas such as; C.P.R.,
Radiological monitoring, and severe weather spotting by the
National Weather Service.
